Carrot Nantes is naturally sweet, with a tender, crisp texture and an inconspicuous core. It is a fast-maturing, orange-rooted variety that thrives in full sun and rich, loose, deeply worked, well-drained soils. Heavy or stony soils may result in stunted or forked carrots. The use of fresh manure can lead to root hair formation. Carrot Nantes has excellent field-keeping quality.
