Covo Rugare Gold PLUS (Hybrid)

Hybrid Covo
Break-through technology - grown from seed
Widely adapted, can be grown year-rounded
Vigorous , highly productive and profitable
Hybrid Covo Rugare Gold PLUS is a groundbreaking variety bred by Avanos Seeds specifically for the Zimbabwean market. Unlike traditional covo, Hybrid Covo Rugare Gold PLUS is grown from seeds, offering numerous advantages. Under good management, the crop can be harvested weekly or even twice a week. The leaves have long stems, making bundling easier without damaging them. This variety can be grown year-round in all conditions. However, like most brassicas, it may bolt in the spring if exposed to heat and moisture stress. Hybrid Covo Rugare Gold PLUS has a sweet taste, tender leaves, a longer shelf life, and cooks significantly faster than traditional covo. The variety responds well to organic fertilizers such as compost or well-decomposed manure. High applications of inorganic fertilizers like ammonium nitrate (AN) may cause bitterness and should only be used in moderation.
