Capricio is a short day medium maturing OPV onion variety used by many farmers in Zimbabwe and southern Africa in general. It is a variety which is suited for green onion markets and may be dried but must then be sold within a month from reaping to prevent too many losses.

Basal fertilizer: 600 - 800kg/ha of Compound C or Vegetable Blend. Top: 30kg of Calcium Nitrate applied at 3, 5, 7 & 9 weeks. (This is a general recommendation hence soil test should be done for correct fertilizer types and fertilizer rates)
