Thrives in cooler temperatures

Spinach Fordhook Giant is a low-growing, fleshy-leaved crop that forms a rosette of white, fleshy stems and deep green, wrinkled leaves. It can be grown year-round but thrives best in cooler temperatures. This variety has a high water requirement and responds well to organic manure, such as compost or well-decomposed cattle, chicken, or pig manure. Well-decomposed chicken and pig manure are preferred, as they are particularly rich in nitrogen, promoting healthy growth.
