Watermelon Crimson Sweet

Widely Adapted

Sweet and deep red flesh

Green striped, high round shaped fruits

Vigorous plants

Watermelon belongs to the same family as cucumbers, butternut, and pumpkin, but it is considered a fruit rather than a vegetable. Watermelon Crimson Sweet has a vigorous plant type with shallow roots. Each plant typically produces two fruits, weighing around 8 kg each. The fruits are light green with darker green stripes. The flesh has an attractive deep red color and is sweet and crisp. Watermelon Crimson Sweet thrives in hot, sunny, and dry conditions but is not tolerant of cold or excessively wet growing environments. The fruit may rot if left in waterlogged soil, so it should be grown on raised beds to improve drainage.
